About the Role

As a member of the Kitchen Team at The Artisan Restaurant & Bar, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our culinary excellence. Your primary responsibilities will vary depending on your specific role but will all contribute to ensuring the highest standards of food quality, preparation, and presentation. You will work closely with the Sous Chef and the Head Chef to execute creative and artisanal dishes that delight our guests.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities (for each role):

Chef de partie:

  • In the chef de partie role, you will chop, mix, and make entrees, sauces, or side-dishes as the only kitchen worker in your section. You will also manage the inventory of raw ingredients and waste disposal. You will ensure compliance with the highest quality, hygiene, and health standards. Success in this role will be demonstrated by delivering and developing dishes to expand restaurant clientele, improve reputation, attract new customers, and increase profits.



Commis Chef:

In the commis chef role, you will assist the chef de partie with tasks related to meal preparation, maintenance, logistics, and safety and sanitation. Success in this role will be determined by your ability to support the kitchen’s efficiency and safety without compromising the quality of the meals produced.


KP:

  • Operate the dishwashing machine and ensure all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are cleaned and sanitised.

  • Assist with kitchen cleanliness and organization.

  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to manage the flow of dirty dishes and ensure a clean and efficient kitchen.

Pastry Cook:

  • Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, and bread.

  • Decorate and present pastries with creativity and precision.

  • Maintain an organized and clean pastry station, adhering to food safety guidelines.

  • Collaborate with the pastry team to ensure dessert menu excellence.

Qualifications (for each role):

  • Previous experience in a kitchen role is essentail.

  • A passion for culinary arts and a commitment to quality and presentation.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

  • A positive and collaborative attitude.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
